Memory, also called Concentration or the matching pairs game, is one of the simplest and oldest brain games. A set of cards lies face down, with two of each picture. Each turn you flip two; a match stays face up, otherwise both turn back over. The better your memory, the fewer moves you need. It suits children and adults alike and is good practice for focus.
In Hamdor, Memory is a single-player game that works fully offline. There are four sizes, and your moves and time are shown at the top.
How to play Memory
- All cards start face down, with exactly two of each picture.
- Each move, you flip two cards.
- If they match, they stay face up. If not, they turn back after a moment.
- Every pair of flips counts as one move.
- The game ends when every pair is found. Fewer moves and less time mean a better game.

Tips for fewer moves in Memory
- Use the first moves to scout. Early on, flip cards you haven't seen so you learn the board quickly.
- Flip the unknown card first. Open a new card first each move; if you've already seen its partner, make that your second flip.
- Search in order. Open cards row by row or column by column so positions are easier to remember.
- Name what you see. Saying a picture and its place in your head, like "star, second row", helps it stick.
- Don't rush. Time is recorded too, but a careless move costs more than a few seconds' thought.
