Spider is one of the most popular solitaire games. Hamdor plays Spiderette, its compact cousin: one 52-card deck and seven columns instead of two decks and ten. You build runs from king down to ace in a single suit; each complete run is removed from the table, and when all four are gone you have won.
In Hamdor, Spiderette plays offline in four levels. Every deal has already been solved by a computer solver, so every game is winnable: if you lose, there was a way you didn't find. Hint and undo are available at every level, and your winning streak is counted.
How to play Spiderette
- Seven columns are dealt with one to seven cards; only the last card in each column is face up. The rest form the stock.
- Any card can go on a card exactly one rank higher, of any suit, such as an eight on a nine.
- Several cards move together only if they form a run in one suit.
- Any card or same-suit run can go into an empty column.
- When the card covering a hidden card moves away, the hidden card turns face up.
- Tapping the stock deals one new card onto every column. In Hamdor you can deal even when a column is empty.
- A complete king-to-ace run in one suit is removed automatically. Remove all four and you win.
These are the exact rules Hamdor plays by; the app shows them too, under each game's How to play tab.
Four levels of Spiderette
- Easy, 1 suit: every card is a spade, so any card on one rank higher makes a proper run. The best place to learn.
- Medium, 2 suits: spades and hearts. Now you need to keep your runs in suit.
- Hard, 2 suits: the same two suits, with deals that leave a narrower path to victory.
- Extra hard, 2 suits: the hardest deals the solver still won, for a real challenge.
- Every deal is winnable: at all four levels, deals are picked from ones the solver has won.

Tips to win at Spiderette
- Build in suit. A red eight on a black nine is legal, but you can't move them together afterwards. Whenever you can, play onto the same suit.
- Turn hidden cards. A move that uncovers a card is usually the best one, because it brings new information and new options.
- Empty columns are your strongest tool. Any card fits there. Use them to untangle mixed runs and don't fill them with a lone card too soon.
- Tidy up before you deal. Every deal puts a card on every column, empty ones included. Make all your useful moves first.
- Count the stock. After the first deal 24 cards remain: three deals of seven and a last deal of three that reaches only the first three columns.
- Plan for kings. A king can only move to an empty column. If one is sitting on hidden cards, plan where that empty column will come from.
Spiderette in Hamdor
- Fully offline: once Hamdor has opened, this game runs without a connection.
- Hint and undo: stuck? The hint button shows a next move, and undo takes a mistake back.
- Stats and records: games played, games won and your best results are kept.
- Your own look: change how the table and pieces look in the Hamdor shop. It is cosmetic only and never affects who wins.
Spiderette FAQ
How is Spiderette different from regular Spider?
Regular Spider uses two decks and ten columns. Spiderette uses one deck and seven columns, so games are shorter. Building and removing king-to-ace runs work the same way.
Is every Spiderette deal in Hamdor winnable?
Yes. Every deal at every level has been solved beforehand. If you are stuck, use undo and hints: there is a way through.
Which level should I pick?
Start with Easy, one suit. Once winning feels routine, move to two suits and then try Hard and Extra hard.
Can I play Spiderette offline?
Yes. Spiderette in Hamdor works completely offline.
