Lights Out is a short puzzle with a lot of depth. You get a grid of lights, some of them on. Tapping a light switches it and the lights above, below, left and right of it. It sounds easy, but every tap changes several lights at once, which turns it into a neat logic problem.
In Hamdor, Lights Out is a single-player game that works fully offline. Every board is guaranteed solvable. The hint shows the next light from the shortest solution, there is an undo button, and your moves and time are shown.
How to play Lights Out
- Tapping a light switches it and its neighbours above, below, left and right: on becomes off and off becomes on.
- Diagonal lights don't change, and lights on edges and corners have fewer neighbours.
- The goal is to turn every light off.
- Every tap is one move; fewer moves is a better solve.

Tips to solve Lights Out
- Order doesn't matter. The result of a set of taps doesn't depend on their order, only on which lights you tapped.
- Two taps cancel out. Tapping a light twice undoes it, so a solution never needs the same light more than once.
- Chase the lights down. Go row by row: for every light that is on, tap the one directly below it. The row above goes dark and the lit ones move down.
- The last row is the clue. When only the bottom row is lit, its pattern tells you which top-row lights to tap; tap those and chase the lights down again.
- Learn from the hint. If you don't know the bottom-row patterns yet, use the hint and watch which top-row lights it picks.
