What is Hamdor?
Hamdor is a Persian game-night app with 35 games: Iranian classics like Hokm, Shelem, Pasur and Backgammon, plus card, board, sports and puzzle games. Play online with friends and real opponents, or offline against bots.
Is Hamdor free?
Yes. All 35 games, online play, chat and friends are free for everyone. The optional Hamdor Plus subscription adds cosmetic looks and unlimited private tables, and never affects who wins.
Which devices does Hamdor run on?
Android 8.0 and newer with the Hamdor app, and iPhone, iPad and computers with the web app, which runs in the browser with no install.
How do I install the Android app?
Download the installer from this site and open it. If Android asks, allow installs from this source. Only download the installer from the official Hamdor site.
How do I play on iPhone?
Open the web app in Safari, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. Hamdor then sits on your Home Screen like an app.
Playing
Can I play offline?
Yes. Multiplayer games can be played against bots, and single-player games like Sudoku, Solitaire and Spiderette need no connection at all. Playing friends and ranked games needs the internet.
How do I play with friends?
Create an account with your mobile number and add friends with their friend code. Then create a private room and invite them, or send them the room code. You can chat with stickers and reactions while you play.
How do I know if my opponent is a bot?
Bots are always labelled as bots. In online play, if nobody turns up within a few seconds, a bot fills the empty seat and is marked next to its name.
Are the rules the Iranian ones?
Yes. Hokm with the hakem chosen by the first ace and kot scoring, Shelem with bids from 100 to 165, Pasur with the eleven-sum capture and sur, backgammon matches to 3 or 5 points with gammons, and Persian dama, the way they are played in Iran. Each game page and the app itself list the full rules.
Can two people play on one phone?
Yes. Most board games, such as backgammon, chess, checkers and Ludo, can be played by two people on one phone.
Shop and Plus
What is in the shop?
New looks for your games and profile: card backs, table felts, backgammon boards and dice, chess boards and sets, pool cues, avatar frames, name colours, chat bubbles and stickers. They are cosmetic only.
How do I get coins?
There is a free coin gift in the shop every day, and coin packs can be bought if you want more. Coins only buy shop looks and can't be cashed out.
What is Hamdor Plus?
An optional subscription: unlimited private tables, special card backs and tables, a gold crown and frame next to your name, and Plus stickers. Every game is complete and free without it.
Is there any gambling?
No. Hamdor has no betting, gambling or cash prizes. The games are for fun.
Account and privacy
Do I need an account?
Not for bots and single-player games; you can stay a guest. Online play, friends and chat need an account with your mobile number.
What data does Hamdor keep?
Only what online play needs, such as your mobile number, display name and game results. Your number is never shown to other players. See the privacy page for details.
