Soccer in Hamdor

Disc soccer is a turn-based table football game seen from above. Each side has five round players on a striped pitch. On your turn you pull one disc back like a slingshot and let go; it shoots forward, knocks into the ball, the other discs and the walls, and everything keeps sliding until it stops. Then it is your opponent's turn. It is easy to pick up and very hard to master: angles, bank shots and clever blocking make every match different.

In Hamdor you can play soccer online in ranked matches against real players; if nobody is found within a few seconds, a bot takes the seat and is labelled as a bot. You can also open a private room and send the code to a friend, practise offline against a bot, or play two players on one phone.

How to play Soccer

  1. Each side has five discs. Take turns pulling one of yours back and letting go; discs and ball slide, collide and bounce off the walls until everything stops. Then it is your rival's turn.
  2. A goal is when the whole ball crosses the goal line between the posts. After a goal everyone resets and the side that conceded kicks off. An own goal counts for the rival.
  3. There are no fouls. First to 3 goals wins; after 40 shots in total the leader wins, and if it is level the next goal wins.
  4. To aim, drag away from a disc: the farther you pull, the harder the shot, and the dotted line shows the path. To cancel, drag back onto the disc and let go.

These are the exact rules Hamdor plays by; the app shows them too, under each game's How to play tab.

Disc soccer in Hamdor

  • Five discs each: blue against red, one numbered disc as keeper at the back and the rest spread across your half.
  • Slingshot shots: drag away from a disc to aim; the further you pull, the harder it goes, and a dotted line shows where it will hit first. Drag back onto the disc to cancel.
  • Goals: a goal counts when the whole ball crosses the line between the posts. After a goal everyone returns to their kick-off spot and the side that conceded moves first. An own goal counts for your opponent.
  • No fouls: discs can be used to block, push and trap the ball against a wall.
  • Winning: the first to 3 goals wins. After 40 shots in total the player ahead wins, and a level match is decided by the next goal.
  • Ways to play: online ranked, private room with a code, offline against a bot, and two players on one phone.

Tips to win at disc soccer

  • Aim through the ball, not at it. Line up the disc, the ball and the goal, and the ball goes where the dotted line says.
  • Use the walls. A bank shot off the side wall can get around a blocking disc.
  • Do not leave the ball in front of your goal. A soft clearing shot to the side is better than a hard one that comes straight back.
  • Keep a disc near your goal. A keeper in the mouth makes close shots much harder.
  • Think about the next turn. Where your disc ends up matters as much as where the ball goes.
  • Do not rush. The timer is 20 seconds, which is enough to line up a clean shot.

  • Online, ranked: play real opponents and earn a rating. If nobody turns up within a few seconds, a bot takes the seat and is labelled as a bot.
  • Private rooms: create a room, send the code to your friends and chat with stickers and reactions while you play.
  • Bots: play offline against bots, to practise or when nobody is online.
  • Two on one phone: pass the phone and play face to face.
  • Stats and streaks: your win rate, best winning streak and this game's leaderboard.
  • Your own look: change how the table and pieces look in the Hamdor shop. It is cosmetic only and never affects who wins.

Soccer FAQ

How many players does disc soccer have?

In Hamdor it is played one on one, blue against red. If no online opponent is found, a bot takes the seat.

How do I win?

Be the first to score 3 goals. If the match is still going after 40 shots, whoever is ahead wins; if it is level, the next goal wins.

What happens if I run out of time?

Your turn is played for you, so keep an eye on the timer ring. After a few missed turns a bot takes over your seat.

Can I play soccer offline?

Yes. Playing against a bot and two players on one phone work without internet. Online games and private rooms need a connection.
