Sea Battle, the game many know as Battleship, is a game of deduction. Each player secretly places a fleet in their own sea, then you take turns firing at cells in your rival's sea. Every shot comes back as a hit or a miss, and from those answers you slowly work out where the ships are hiding.
In Hamdor you can play Sea Battle online against real players, open a private room for a friend with a code, or practise offline against a bot. Place your fleet by dragging and turning the ships, or tap Random to set it up in a moment.
How to play Sea Battle
- Each player has a 10 x 10 sea and hides a fleet in it: one 4-cell ship, two 3-cell, three 2-cell and four 1-cell ships.
- Ships lie across or down and may not touch, not even at a corner.
- Take turns firing at a cell of the rival's sea. A hit lets you fire again; a miss passes the turn.
- When every cell of a ship is hit it sinks and is shown to both players; the water around it is marked empty, since no other ship can be there.
- The first to sink the whole rival fleet wins. The battle starts once both fleets are placed; who fires first is drawn by lot.

Sea Battle in Hamdor
- 10 by 10 sea: each player has a hundred-cell sea the other cannot see.
- Ten ships: one 4-cell, two 3-cell, three 2-cell and four 1-cell ships, 20 cells in all.
- Ships may not touch: ships lie across or down and may not be next to each other, not even at a corner.
- Hit and fire again: a hit lets you shoot again; a miss passes the turn.
- Water around sunk ships: when a ship sinks, the cells around it are marked empty for you.
- Random first shot: once both fleets are placed, who fires first is drawn by lot.
Tips to win at Sea Battle
- Fire in a checkerboard. While a 2-cell ship is still afloat, shooting every other cell, like the white squares of a chessboard, is enough to find every ship of two cells or more.
- After a hit, go straight. Ships are straight and can't touch, so the diagonal cells next to a hit are always water. Try the four cells beside it.
- Once you know the direction, finish it. Two hits in a line show which way the ship lies; keep firing along that line until it sinks.
- Skip the water around wrecks. Hamdor marks the cells around a sunk ship; no other ship can be there, so don't waste shots.
- The single-cell ships come last. The four 1-cell ships are the hardest targets. Once the big ships are gone, focus on large untouched areas.
- Don't place a predictable fleet. All on the edges or all in the middle is a pattern rivals learn fast. Spread out and tuck small ships in odd corners.
Sea Battle in Hamdor
- Online, ranked: play real opponents and earn a rating. If nobody turns up within a few seconds, a bot takes the seat and is labelled as a bot.
- Private rooms: create a room, send the code to your friends and chat with stickers and reactions while you play.
- Bots: play offline against bots, to practise or when nobody is online.
- Stats and streaks: your win rate, best winning streak and this game's leaderboard.
- Your own look: change how the table and pieces look in the Hamdor shop. It is cosmetic only and never affects who wins.

Can ships touch each other?
No. Ships may not be next to each other, not even diagonally.
Do I shoot again after a hit?
Yes. Every hit gives you another shot; the turn passes to your rival on your first miss.
Can two people play Sea Battle on one phone?
No. Each fleet must stay hidden, so Sea Battle has no two-on-one-phone mode in Hamdor. Play a bot offline or friends online.
